Is Sculptured Sand Wheelchair Accessible?

Updated over a week ago

The trail throughout Sculptured Sand is a relatively flat, .5 mile gravel path that winds through the forest in a loop. Our dedicated crews work diligently to maintain the trail, but as an outdoor path it naturally contains undulations throughout, and parts of it may become muddy after rainfall. The trail also has a mild incline near the entrance/exit, which, when coupled with the possibility of mud and uneven surfaces, may present challenges for guests using wheelchairs.

Guests with mobility disabilities will want to carefully consider the best way to experience Sculptured Sand. The bumpy, uneven surface could cause pain if an individual has a sensitivity to a bumpy ride, and pushing wheeled means of transport across the gravel path is extremely difficult and takes a lot of effort.

Sculptured Sand allows all guests who are able to safely navigate inside Sculptured Sand. We recommend that one member of the party inspect the ground conditions inside Sculptured Sand before entering with the guest who has mobility disabilities. Our policy is that all guests with at least one member of their party in a wheelchair may be offered a refund, or if they want to attempt to explore Sculptured Sand, they must do so at their own risk.

Sculptured Sand has designated parking spots near the entrance for guests with an ADA pass. Guests who do not have a pass may be dropped off at the entrance and/or picked up at the exit, if they choose.
