As an outdoor event that runs June through September, Sculptured Sand is best enjoyed when appropriately dressed for a summer adventure.
Clothing
Like most wooded areas throughout New England, guests may encounter bugs that bite, like mosquitoes or black flies, while walking the trail. For a more enjoyable experience, we suggest wearing long clothing, or applying insect repellent which is available for purchase in our shop. While most of the trail is shaded by the forest, protection from the summer sun, like hats and sunscreen, are still recommended. If rain is in the forecast for your visit, we suggest bringing a waterproof jacket.
Footwear
Optimal footwear choices include closed-toe shoes like hiking boots or sneakers, ensuring a steady footing on the trail. If rain is in the forecast prior to or during your visit, the trail may become muddy in spots so we would suggest waterproof boots. Please refrain from wearing high heels, dress shoes, or cowboy boots, as they would likely make walking on the gravel path challenging. Learn more about the walking trail within Sculptured Sand here.
